Denmark has donated 19 of the F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine, and now Trump has ordered an end to US support for their onboard jamming equipment, thereby helping Putin destroy this USD 291,000,000 donation.

This US administration is our enemy, and the sooner our politicians realize that, the safer we are.

Don't ask what might happen, if the orange urges Microsoft to to the same with Windows.
Europe will be back in the early 70s. Let's fax again 😹😿

It's a ...king shame that Europe failed all the time to stay/become independent.

@alikatze @randahl
linux o.s.'s exist and are also good in some cases.

i'm more worried about google-apple smartphone duopoly.

@zetabeta @alikatze @randahl Some cases? Your fridge probably runs on Linux, your phone is either Linux (Android) or Unix (iOS). I run Linux on my dedicated gaming system. I wouldn’t install Windows 11 on anything! It’s total malware! 😁

EDIT: But yes on the phone thing. Both US based distros 😬

@zetabeta @alikatze @randahl most things are now done with the smartphone, so thats the main problem. Software development capabilities are non existant in europe compared to google apple ms oracle meta etc. 20 year ago us got 50% of world software volume. Today unassailable. My next phone, if course must be a huawei then.

@alikatze @randahl Germany is one of the few places that has flirted with replacing Windows with Linux. The swap over is a pain, but it’s doable.

@alikatze @randahl

Nobody relies on Windows any more. Not for years.

@alikatze @randahl That wouldn’t warp is back in time; quite the contrary, it would remove the Necrosoft death knell on innovation. Finally counter the “embrace, extend, extinguish” subversion.

Getting rid of Necrosoft would rapidly propel the EU beyond the current IT wasteland, and light a big fire under the EU IT ecosystem.

Should have done it decades ago. We didn’t, but there’s no day like today to make the leap forward.

@alikatze @randahl Microsoft 365. That would hurt. For a few months until we ramp up and finish the migrations that have already been started.

@alikatze If Windows were to slash all EU support, Linux adoption would surge instantly. Keep in mind that a large share of Free Software developers worldwide live in the EU.

France and Germany are really big in that.
