Questions
- Does KeePassXC support passkeys?
- If the answer is yes: Does KeePassXC support passkeys on Android?
- If the answer is no: Does KeePassXC have a plan for when to begin supporting passkeys on Android?
- Why is KeePassXC's name so bad?
What I am being told is "KeePassXC" is the version of KeePass you run on a desktop computer and "KeePassDX" is the version you run on an Android phone. Is there anyone reading this who has run both of these, in conjunction? Did you run into any awkwardness from using technically two different versions of the software? Particularly interested in responses from Linux/Flathub/"GNOME software" users.
Hi, I am using KeePassXC and KeePassDX on Linux and Android for years now.
Linux: OpenSuse Tumbleweed with RPM from my normal distribution repository
Android: Installed from FDroid
I can't remember problems.
Only thing: I have to determine (and remember) which device is currently ‘the source of truth’.
I've a stable keyfile, the database gets with changes a new data-based name and will be transferred regularly.
@mcc
Addition:
Android Sync in both directions (but different paths) happens with scheduled Foldersync to an Internet accessible storage.
Sync to/from Linux: Either with SCP / SFTP to and from my storage or KDE Connect from an Android device.
@unixwitch @mcc I use Syncthing to have the synchronization of the key file automated, and I *usually* don't need to worry about 'the source of truth'
When synchronising data, one should generally always worry at least a bit about the ‘source of truth’, but it's good if it works for you.
