After I finally got the beam out of the garden, I hooked up the other end and turned it 90 degrees so it can go thick end first towards the gate behind which I want it to be.

But before I can pull it the rest of the way, I had to tidy up the other beams spread out in the yard. Luckily our tractor fits between fruit trees, sheds and old bee hives and I could pull them all into a pile, one at a time. One shattered!

This took the rest of the day 😓

Took down some of these horrid plastic boxes that the old man had used as nesting boxes.

One actually had a nest inside from some time ago. The others just wet compost. Not that popular I guess.

They seem to be made from electric connection boxes, perhaps they came with all those concrete pylons from the garden?

I'll make some wooden ones instead. I don't want a plastic bird slum. You'll end up with square birds in these!

A disintegrating old plastic box. It once was solidly built, made from thick material, probably ABS, with a steel handle that also integrates a wire outlet and grounding tab. A yellow plastic lid lays next to it. The box is cracked and the lid too. Inside is a metal plate with some wires poked through to secure it to a post. And an old birds nest at the bottom. A perished rubber seal used to waterproof the lid.
Side of the box, with the cable gland and rusty grounding tab attached at the top. A cyrillic label reads "earth", or so I'm told.
