@Fife4Europe Most Americans do not know the NOAA exists or what it does for them. Most Americans think weather forecasts and storm warnings come from smiling TV people standing in front of green screens.

Trump destroying #NOAA is just one component of his crusade to destroy America, made possible by Americans who are as deliberately ignorant and hateful as he is.

The tRump administration is proposing deep cuts at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, according to a draft budget proposal viewed by NPR.

Proposed cuts of 75% include cutting the budget for geostationary satellites by 44%, jeopardising the next generation of space-based weather sensors.

"NOAA was already stretched thin and understaffed... It's going to go from stretched thin to decimated."
