“According to a May 4, 2022 announcement, #Anduril and the #Australian military are "entering into commercial negotiations for a $100 million, co-funded design, development and manufacturing program for extra large autonomous undersea vehicles (#XLAUV s) for the Royal Australian Navy". [0]

Palmer Luckey Made a VR Headset That Kills the User If They Die in the Game:

I actually cried reading this.

Billionaire Palmer Luckey created the Oculus VR headset. Now he owns Anduril, which sells unmanned weapon and surveillance systems to US and allies.

As an “art project”, he created a VR headset that kills its user if their avatar dies, via 3 explosive charges aimed at the forebrain.

Of course, he is a Vance supporter.

Haven't watched this in full yet but the "race to the bottom" type comments about how you need to make a device that people actually want I heard about from @davemark here on Mastodon.

#PalmerLuckey said that before too, in the context of the Oculus Quest that time IIRC. He's not entirely wrong in that we do need the high end devices that offer the best experience possible to drive things forward. Personally I just think we can and should have the low-end too.
