I've created two projects related to #Remeha boilers/heatpumps:

An #ESPhome component that allows you to read data off the CAN bus from modern Remeha boilers (and possibly from related brands, like #Baxi and De #Dietrich): https://github.com/robertklep/esphome-remeha-can

The goal is to eventually create an ESPhome component that allows you to read and control your Remeha boiler fully locally.

Reading the #Remeha #CAN bus (Elga Ace All-in-One) using an #ESP32 with a SN65HVD230 CAN transceiver.

Since all ESP32s have a CAN controller on board, it only requires a tranceiver for the actual physical connection to the bus, so the required hardware is minimal.

Now all I have to do is decode the data...

Since my new #heatpump (#Remeha #Elga Ace All in One) has such poor energy reporting (updates about once an hour, how useful...), this will be my new energy reporter. A #Shelly EM with current clamp.

I'm not using its internal relay, but I just noticed the output limit: "max 2A". Geez, I couldn't even use it if I wanted to.
