He (co-)directed all four John Wick #movies and that's why I have faith in his work. Suppose this is their way of preventing lackluster projects like #TheContinental.

Grandios. Passt sehr gut in die #JohnWick Welt.
Und jetzt hätte ich gerne eine #JohnWick Prequel-Serie die von seinen Anfängen bis zu seinem Ausstieg geht. #TheContinental
Gestern haben wir die ersten beiden Folgen von #TheContinental angeschaut. Starke Mini-Serie mit sehr gutem Production Value, wenn man mal von der menschlichen (nicht schauspielerischen(!) Fehlbesetzung von Mel Gibson absieht. Cooler Einblick ins #Wickverse (nennt man das so? 
) und geile Musik aus der Ära. Auch Szenen mit geiler Musik-/Bildschere, was ich ja besonders liebe.

Just finished ep 1 of #TheContinental. I went in with expectations, and they were met. 
I didn't realize 90 min episodes.

#TheContinental : c'était pas mal. Bon ça manque d'exploration du lore de l'univers John Wick, mais le format marche bien et l'ambiance et la castagne sont là. Pas forcément mémorable, mais ça fait le boulot.

At least the final episode delivered on some good action scenes. Otherwise this is a pretty lackluster prequel to #JohnWick. Some of the plot holes are simply unforgivable. What I want to know if they want to continue this series or not.

From the John Wick Universe, comes the story of the Continental and how Winston Scott became it's manager.
Set at the end of the 70's, it's got action, drama and a banging soundtrack. 3 ep mini series. Hope there's more.
Set in the same universe as #TheBoys but focused on a group of high school kids at a campus for superheroes.
As with The Boys, it's for more adult audiences due to strong themes. But it's shaping up to be just as good.

It gives you a hook, a slightly bigger world, and a wider cast of characters (and backstories for existing characters) that makes things interesting.
Much better than the first episode, IMO. I think I'll watch for a little longer to see how things develop …

I wasn't going to watch further, but the ending did hook me. So maybe one more episode to see where it goes, possibly?

Wenn man ein Drittel der Zeit #TheContinental und zwei Drittel aufs Handy schauen kann, ohne nennenswerte Storybeats zu verpassen, dann hätte die Geschichte vielleicht auch ETWAS tighter erzählt werden können.
