#Denog16 Nachtrag
#ipv6excuses

#Submarine cables - lifelines of countries and continents
by Moritz Frenzel at #denog16
"In recent years, we’ve heard a bit more about submarine cables, mostly related to fiber cuts. Given that they’re lifelines of countries or even continents, they are important, yet we know little about them. So, what’s the rationale behind the large selection of submarine cables, often on the same route? Is it just about resiliency..."

So on my way back home from my first #denog. I watched a lot of videos from past conferences and they are always of high quality. Being there in person was a really cool experience. So many highly qualified and open-minded people. Had a lot of cool conversations with people I didn't know before, but also met a lot of people I've only met online. Thank you @denog for organising such a great conference!
That’s a Wrap for #DENOG16!
What an incredible event filled with insightful talks, lively discussion, hands-on workshops, and amazing networking opportunities. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us, contributed, and made this conference a success.
This conference wouldn’t be the same without YOU. Your participation, ideas and presence make it what it is.
Here’s to the amazing DENOG community. Until next time!
You can find all the talks on our Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@DENOG
The program committee (as represented by Tim and Patrick) takes a bow and thanks the orga team, presenters, submitters, visitors, tech and AV teams, and the community.
We are a wrap at DENOG'16 coming from the Estrel Conference Center in Berlin, Germany.
We're running out of conference time, but we are going out with a bang with Nicolai Leymann of DT, showing off the resolver platform Carrier Scale DNS - DNS@DT.
The afternoon was super productive at Estrel Conference Center in Berlin, Germany.
We are seeing an old-timer contributor to DENOG community Tim Kleefass give an update on the IXP scene in Germany.
This update was provided at the Estrel Conference Center in Berlin, Germany.
I also had the pleasure of presenting my work on AS8298, retiring all backbone ptp links and going fully link-local on OSPF for IPv4 and iPv6.
I also showed off @civiloid 's machines at the IPng lab when doing 1250Gbps and 923Mpps of traffic on a single VPP machine.
