That is a *lot* of Canadian money not going into Florida, Arizona, Texas (and other places) as usual. Like, a lot a lot.

That much of a drop in tourism income is undoubtedly killing jobs in those very MAGA states.

So, #Floridians, #Arizonans ... contact your congresscritter, contact your senator. Yell at them to stop the BS your president is stirring up. You're the ones who can stop this.

@scottsantens This article/review has been really helpful.

I'm coming around to the idea (!) that #UBI should be ensured through guarantees of equitable healthcare, housing, transportation, education, retirement, etc., first through a progressive fee structure in which corporations' profits are directed to these social goods.

Second, corporations should be required to provide a #LivingWage so that people can afford to take care of themselves, their families, and their communities.

Third, I'd like to learn more about a guaranteed maximum #income so that the wealthiest earn only their fair share.

Problem I did not anticipate-

I made the #cashapp and didn't expect someone to give me anything.

All my #income is usually on an #ebt card.

The only #bank I have has no locations in LA.

All my job income was cash or check.

I am locked out of my online banking. It needs a phone number authentication every new device, I don't have that number.

So I can't access anything on #cashapp until I call the bank and fix the number.

Oh well, I don't need it at the moment.

But I'm ANNOYED.

#Musk's #Tesla had $2.3 billion of #income in 2024 but paid zero dollars in #federal #IncomeTax. Over the past three years, it reports $10.8 billion of income on which its current federal tax was just $48 million — a three-year federal tax rate of just 0.4% — more than 50x less than the statutory #corporate tax rate of 21%.
