Ich möchte für meine Lehrveranstaltung zur #Geometrie kurze #Erklärvideos drehen. Dafür könnte ich #OBS Studio und #DaVinciResolve benutzen, aber auch #Camtasia wäre eine Option. Ich mag Open Source Software, aber mein Problem damit ist, dass ich nicht ständig ständig Videos drehe, und daher mich gefühlt immer wieder neu einarbeiten muss… Nach dem, was ich weiß, ist die Lernkurve bei Camtasia nicht ganz so groß. Sony video cameras write very interesting special metadata into MXF video files, but unfortunately, their latest firmware update has changed the specific tag they are using.
#NeoFinder 8.8 now reads that data from both locations. Enjoy!

#NeoFinder uses the extremely powerful free ffmpeg tool to get more metadata and thumbnails out of video files when you catalog them.
NeoFinder 8.8 will now automatically discover ffmpeg installations by Homebrew.

Navigating through very large Catalogs in #NeoFinder for #macOS is easy.
Use the LIBRARY to open the Catalogs, and the folder structure, and click on a folder to see its contents.
Use the View context menu to get all items of a kind in multiple selected folders at once.
Exporting a very large Catalog into the text format now uses a LOT less memory with #NeoFinder 8.8.
We have inspected the code and massively reduced that amount for NeoFinder 8.8.
Now the memory usage curve is nice and flat, as it shall be.

Among a lot of other useful attributes, #NeoFinder now offers #AppleScript read access to the md5 FileCheck value of files in Catalogs!

#NeoFinder 8.8 now supports GPS GeoTags written into MOV video files by the ProCamera.app on iOS. They use a slightly incorrect ISO format that NeoFinder will now properly process for you when cataloging such video files.

The Help menu in #NeoFinder 8.8 now has the option to search for menu commands!
That is pretty useful if you can't find a specific command in the many menus of NeoFinder.

Did you know that the Inspector for your LIBRARY shows the size of all cataloged items in the entire #NeoFinder database?
Just select LIBRARY on the left side of your NeoFinder window, and check out what the Inspector has to say.

When you select more than 9 files to be opened by any external application, NeoFinder will ask you for a confirmation.
Pretty helpful when, in the heat of the moment, you have selected 2K of photos and double clicked…

Again, sometimes it's just the little things. Like the display of video file chapters in the #NeoFinder 8.8 Inspector. We have prettified the time display, so it looks really nice now.
