Hey @tomwor !
Just took a look at the video for #SuperSpaceArcade. Looking nice! It really reminds me of a super old (1982) PC game called #Zaxxon by Sega:

What are you making it in?
@Blort Thanks for the link - I didn't know about Zaxxon, looks indeed similar, will check that out for inspiration.
I'm using #Unity for Super Space Arcade. Would've loved to use Godot or something #FLOSS but it's just not on par (yet). I want to transition to FLOSS though. Newest screenshots on https://www.worgames.com/ btw.
Yeah, I understand. #Godot and #Armory3D are progressing rapidly, but both are still maturing though. In time I'm sure both will get something impressive launched using them, and then more people will be willing to try and you'll see more of a community and greater contributions (could this be #RivenTails for #GodotEngine?) We're still working our way there as a community, though...
@Blort I was one of the first beta-testers when #Godot became free software and I'm supporting it on Patreon. So I'm hoping to switch and eyeing it closely. GDscript is really fun.
And Armory looks really slick! But I think that one has even more work ahead.
Anyway, trying my best with what I have, will make it DRM- and Tracking-Free and might even GPL my parts of the code - but with the proprietary base, it's utility is rather limited for others.
Sounds like a good plan. Even if you don't see much utility in open sourcing those parts of your code, it still engenders good will and gives other people the freedom to possibly find uses that you or I hadn't even thought of, or at least submit bug/security fixes.
Even just releasing a native Linux version though is helping the #FOSS cause in my book. I'd rather see someone running proprietary software on a libre operating system, than the same on Windows/Macos.
