Finished processing that apple tree. Some nice fruit wood for making shashlikh, another length of log for sawmilling and another stupid pile of branches to be turned into useful mulch later.

Some knotty parts were hard to split and tried to steal my axe, so I cut the burr off this old (but very useful) steel wedge and rescued my axe with it.

Grinder ran out of battery, so no smooth finish.

A steel wedge clamped to a sawhorse on frozen ground. The wedge has a huge burr from someone beating the shit out of it with a big steel maul (that also has a matching burr). There's a hole near the rear for retrieval.
The same steel wedge, now with the burr cut off, stuck in the middle of a log that already has an axe stuck in it. A big pile of branches is behind and some split logs on the ground.
A pretty pattern inside a log where the tree has been branching into two thick parts. It's coloured whie, red and brown and there's a black scar in the split.
