So I'm seeing an odd issue with the #beelink GTI14 small Mini-PC I bought for my #selfhosting work.

It runs great with a display attached via HDMI or DVI, but when I power it down and move it into its ultimate home as a server with no display attached, it crashes after ~ a day.

It's running ProxMox VE 8.3.0 FWIW.

Here's the Beelink forum post with more detail:

Anyone seen anything like this or have any suggestions?

Beelink Forum · GTI4 crashes after ~1 day with no display attachedHello! I bought a GTI14 and I love it! It runs ProxMox VE 8.3.0 just great when it’s on my desk. However when I try to move it to another room with no disp...

Did a bunch of downsizing to save on a little bit of electricity in the #homelab . I got me a #beelink eq12 pro off of ebay that replace 2 older mini pc's. These things are not the fastest but using intel quick sync and having 8 cores. They are little work horses that don't use a lot of power. I also go a 6 disk usb enclosure i'm trying to figure out if I want to keep or not. It has some older WD Red drives that are like 10 years old on them now and still out here bossed up! Comparative to everything else they use a ton of power too. Hard drive prices be kinda wild right now!!

Next try with a few modifications. Printing in a different orientation without supports now after changing the layout of the screw holders a bit. Also increased the width by 1mm (was too tight) and moved the holes for the fan and cables up by a few millimeters.

Tonight I designed a wall mount for my Beelink EQ13 mini PC which I use as an OpenWrt router.

At the moment it is just dangling around on top of the freezer or standing on top of the switch next to the mount of my old router. Doesn't look good and can fall down easily.

Tomorrow I will start the first test print, I really hope everything fits, maybe just some small adjustments will be necessary. Then finally I can replace the old mount 🙂

Dear #lazyweb, I'm researching mini PC's for my youngest and currently looking at the #Beelink EQi12 (although the varying specs on various pages are making me nervous). I'm wondering if there are any other small form factor and cheapish boxes that have good #linux support I should consider?

Here is a video that shows upgrading some hardware on a Mini PC, then installing and setting up a first container and a VM for .

I just got a Beelink EQR5 from NewEgg for $90 off:

...on which I plan to install ProxMox. First time for me, and I'm, kind of excited for it.

I am a very happy boy today, not only did I get one of the two #MiniPC computers I got but I also got my new #MacMini #M4 as well! I wasn´t expecting it until next week but it came early!

Seeing #OSX at 180Hz is amazeballs!

Still working on setting it up but I finished setting up the #Beelink #EQR5 I got and put #Proxmox on it. Going to spend the weekend setting up some VMs that don´t require as much power and run 24/7.

Is anyone familiar with #Beelink #MiniPC? I'm thinking about buying one, but they have a gajillion options and I'm trying to avoid my usual #adhd trait of drowning myself in research.

I know I don't want top-end as it's just going to be used for general computing with Windows. But I'm happy to pay more to get longevity out of the device.

Retoots appreciated!

My Beelink EQ13 arrived today and I have installed OpenWrt on it! Awesome, lightweight, nothing more to say:

Less than 17 MB on the root partition, about 6 MB on the boot partition and about 66 MB in RAM.

For sure it will get more after installing some packages but that's a really great start.
