Awww! We will have our #MotionSickness related Accessibility workshop "tomorrow" (Friday at 9am =.=) at #BoosterConf... and sessionize, the software they used for speaker relations, generated this cute banner to share.
Many 90s-web-vibes <3

Also we finally agreed on a hashtag for all things regarding motion-sickness-safe websites: #PukeLessWeb.

Waaaay shorter than our old workshop hashtags :)

Btw: Helén was the first speaker at #BoosterConf that I've heard mention their pronouns. I also did not see anyone else noting them down on their lanyard.

Huge difference to SoCraTes.

But its only the first day and I did not interact with that many people yet, maybe I've missed many pronoun-aware folks.

One thing that surprises me about #BoosterConf, though: I haven't seen a single attendee (or orga person) wearing a mask besides me and my colleague.
Huh.

I tried to research recent waste water numbers for Bergen (or Norway in general) but could not find anything from 2025.

Day two of #BoosterConf starts strong: Helén Persson's intro into Mob Programming/Software Teaming was exactly the intro I always wanted and never got.

Answered many of the questions I had, had reasonable examples and considerations.
Even the question what to do, if the pilot does not know language X or not how to do the thing in the language: You say "we need to do Y. to do that you type...".

I'm really glad this conference is happening in an hotel, so that I can go to my room (albeit it's located at the far end of the floor </3) for toilet breaks.

Because there are long lines for the loos and no unisex toilets as far as I can tell.

I definitely will habe to look into potential #accessibiliy pitfalls in the api.
Like for motion sickness, elements appearing and disappearing (while not moving around other elements) are safe because it's not movement.
Let's see if I can find an answer to "are transitions better/worse" than no transitions?

PS: Jakob.Fun is on Blusky but I guess we still cannot follow Blusky users without a bridge, right?

Uh, the last lightning talk by Jakob was about the view-transition-API. Very interesting, especially the part where Jakob showed how to open something that looked like the usual "product-details-view-modal" you know from webshops but without JS by just transitioning from one html to the next.

The example is somewhere on jakob.fun/ if I understood correctly, but I could not find it yet ^^'.

Uff, #BoosterConf already triggering existential questions with their name Tags :D

I chose "fabric" but I don't know. So many things are inspiring me. Although they don't always relate to web development.

And I didn't want to write "elegant, accessible features on websites" because too long and also a bit pretentious-y.

I could have written "battlebots"... I missed this opportunity to finally find battlebots fans. :D

On my way to #BoosterConf.
First time at the new Berlin airport.
Also managed to spill my water in one of my bags ^^' Fortunately I only soaked the bag and my gloves. Good thing I always bring additional bags.

Otherwise I'm in a good mood :)

Oooh, a misplaced email situation has been cleared up now it's official, that my colleague and I will hold our (prevent) motion sickness accessibility workshop at #boosterconf (March 26-28) in Bergen. :yayblob:

This conference seems so thoughtful and friendly. A conference that is truly relevant for the WHOLE team, not just the devs. I like this approach a lot and am now very excited.

I've never been to Norway, though, so there's a lot to duckduckgo. 💜
