I definitely will habe to look into potential #accessibiliy pitfalls in the api.
Like for motion sickness, elements appearing and disappearing (while not moving around other elements) are safe because it's not movement.
Let's see if I can find an answer to "are transitions better/worse" than no transitions?

PS: Jakob.Fun is on Blusky but I guess we still cannot follow Blusky users without a bridge, right?

have I ever said how much I enjoy writing expressive and artsy #ImageDescriptions when appropriate?
I mean there is a balance to be had here. I have a lot against Xkcds approach to image descriptions and I think hiding jokes or giving a different experience is a no go for #accessibiliy.

But: in a context, wher I would expect able-bodied people to take a bit of time and enjoy an artwork, I still provide a factual and functional image description, but with a bit of flourish.

(example above)

Autosave is not a feature for lazy people with bad workflows, that just have "got to get into the habit of saving"

It is an important #accessibiliy feature.

Because I just once again lost work due to an open Source project deciding not to support auto saves, and when I looked in forums I was immediately met with this elitism. 🤬

Thank you @GIMP btw.

Axios is essentially headlining with the business model overlays use: “Assistive technology is AI's next billion-person market”

The technologies it describes are not AI, even if there is some computer vision in there. Anyway, it’s just a CES marketing round-up with two simple caveats at the end.

5/ I have always attributed this massive gap in our healthcare system to a very dated systemic assumption that ppl with disabilities are not sexual and that we won’t live long enough to get cancer. There’s also a systemic bias that disabled people are grouped in one area or in a single institution and thus are someone else’s problem - laughable because people who do live in long-term care have a harder time accessing routine #gynecology care. #healthcare #healthequity #accessibiliy

Sony is making an Access controller. It is a competitor of the Adaptive Controller from Microsoft and I love how they are not alike at all.

The xBox controller offers two big touch surfaces and tons of ports to plug in your own buttons.

The Sony controller has a lot more buttons of its own, but they are meant to be swapped around to accommodate different hand shapes and probably also different games. But it has fewer ports.

@datarequestsorg I am especially interested in your input for #accessibiliy for the visually impaired. I did some testing myself and followed the WCAG guidelines, but – being sighted – I am unfortunately not really proficient in using screen readers and other helpful tools. It is really hard to unlearn using your eyes for navigation.

If you can’t spare the time and attention, I totally get that. Please don’t feel obligated, I will get better at #screenReaders eventually.
