Baltikum ist Busland, so geht es heute im gelben Doppeldecker von Ecolines nach Kaunas. Für die Stadt und Litauen überhaupt bleibt mir nur ein abendlicher Spaziergang, aber was ich sehe, gefällt mir. Muss unbedingt wiederkommen!

The cello that survived the Holocaust.

A cello owned by a Hungarian composer killed in Kaunas during the Holocaust has been discovered eight decades later. Saved and hidden from the Nazis, the instrument attests to the invincibility of music, says the composer’s daughter.

In #Kaunas gibt es eine 1,7 km lange Fußgängerzone. Autos können queren, haben aber keine Vorfahrt. Die Kreuzung ist quasi ein großer Fußgängerüberweg. Als ich dort war, schien alles ganz entspannt zu laufen. Ich weiß nicht, ob das in Deutschland auch so funktionieren würde.
