ElementX is *so* much faster than the current stable versions of Element and its various soft forks (I'm currently using SchildiChat).
As I've said before, I'm guessing it will take another 6-12 months for all the Matrix 2.0 upgrades to be rolled out and fully stabilized in the various app and server software. But if ElementX performance is anything to go by, the new and improved Matrix ecosystem will be well worth an open-minded test.
Hey guys for no reason at all, about how good is Matrix 2.0 / Element X with its calls and video calls? Or even matrix 1.0.
"Honestly, it is insanely exciting to see Matrix having evolved from the 'good enough for enthusiastic geeks' to the 'wow, this feels better than Signal' phase that we’re entering now. Meanwhile, matrix-rust-sdk is tracking all the latest Matrix 2.0 work, so any client built on matrix-rust-sdk (Fractal, Element X, iamb, etc) can benefit from it immediately."

Some neat updates to https://we2.ee, the encrypted messenger for the people—
· short profile links: we2.ee/@user (when char # counts)
· snappier #Matrix2.0 support w/ sliding sync
· txt.we2.ee for #secure self-destructing text
@matrix is going through another wobbly period, when the UX gets a bit unreliable. I'm guessing it's to do with all the big changes being made for Matrix 2.0, and the work on DMA-mandated interop?
Last time Matrix got wobbly was when the core team were working on RiotX and rebranding to @element. Things settled down a *lot* after that, and the UX became much smoother. Fingers crossed that the same will happen again.

FOSS NEWS
Yesterday was the Software Freedom Day, organized by Digital Freedom Foundation, there were various smaller events worldwide to promote FOSS, various organizations, companies hosted their own events, including FSF, Earth Cause, Nextcloud, System76 and TUXEDO Computers, but anyone could host their own event:
https://news.itsfoss.com/software-freedom-day/
(Unfortunately it isn't promoted enough, very few people know about it, I also heard about it first 2 days ago, from @BrodieOnLinux 's video. It's really sad because it would be really important to deliver the message to average people that they don't need to stick to big tech's crappy services just because education system taught them to do so, there are some great free software projects which respect users much more, don't just treat them as records in a database to be sold.)
Element X and Element Call are now officially available for mobile, based on Matrix 2.0, providing better performance, exciting new features:

@matrix Looks like an amazing conference! I'm especially pumped to see the talks on Matrix 2.0, ElementX and decentralized identity!
Will they be uploaded to Peertube? (Another wonderful decentralized, FOSS platform!)
@RickiTarr Most of them do, tbh. I think the underlying message between "Every Frame a Painting" captured it well. (Miss that channel.)
But seeing as I used to use 80s and 90s action movies for examples in my film class, I might be an outlier.
Anyhoo, a few:

#300 The fight on the cliff
#serenity The Serenity dolly shot to open
#GrandBudapestHotel Just the color design, in all of it.
