Lasst uns vernetzen!

Documentation of the systematic destruction of Tuckers Nob forests

"Presentation for Friends of Tuckers Nob on the history and significance of Tuckers Nob State Forest and why it must be included in the NSW Government's proposed 'Great' Koala National Park. Based on a recent preliminary report submitted to government, showing the original forest and koala sightings, with a list of moratorium areas (including Tuckers). All the most recent developments, bringing the viewer up to date. This is why we need a #GreaterKoalaPark, with no logging."

The video has a link to the report containing the results (maps) of the investigations by Dr Tim Cadman and local community-based citizen scientists:

Three months ago I was desperately seeking queer and especially trans community, both online and in meatspace.

I joined Tumblr, and there I found it in spades. Younger trans girls, trans girls my age, trans men, all kinds of fascinating queer folks.

I met my first long-distance partner, another trans woman one state over. She's my age, we've spent one weekend together already, and we'll spend another together soon. Polyamory has been a wonderful journey! I love a small handful of people, and it has made my life infinitely better.

I became involved in local queer activism and am now on the Board of the local Queer Collective that puts on our Pride and other events. I just got elected but I'm excited to get my hands dirty!

Finally, I started going to local Kink clubs, because I couldn't live with myself if I never tried, and again I've met wonderful community! Amazing folks who are just
fun to be around!

It feels like the past few months have been *years.* In the obvious way, hooray fascism taking over my country; but also in a beautiful way.

"Many people think going local is buying 5 acres, building a house & growing a garden. That can be part of it, but if you don’t know your neighbors, share your produce, drive the neighbor kids to school & all the mundane tasks of belonging, you are not, yet, going local in any useful sense."

"When you go local, you are in a different world, at a different pace..."

"How can we foster emotional resilience in the face of ecological overshoot and the death of modernity? What role do art and storytelling play alongside science and data in responding to our collective human predicament? And how can we strengthen our communities and plant the seeds for a different way of life, starting in our own small corners of the world?"

I am going "radical" lol, I am never going to buy digital books again directly, I am going to suggest the purchase and donate to my local library the amount of the book.

I may not get it, I know. But I like to think that is a grain of salt to a virtuous cycle where community matters more than an individual.

A quotation from Lincoln

Labor is prior to and independent of capital. Capital is only the fruit of labor, and could never have existed if labor had not first existed. Labor is the superior of capital, and deserves much the higher consideration. Capital has its rights, which are as worthy of protection as any other rights. Nor is it denied that there is, and probably always will be, a relation between labor and capital producing mutual benefits. The error is in assuming that the whole labor of community exists within that relation.

Message (1861-12-03) to Congress, Annual Message (State of the Union)
