I was about to go my local library in the Forum #Norwich this evening at 5:50pm, but was advised as I approached not to go any further by two police officers in balaclavas, bulletproof vests and automatic assault rifles. I could see at least 4 other officers equally armed in the vicinity.

I was stunned. I haven’t seen this kind of armed presence since the 7/7 bombings in London.

As yet I’ve not seen any news reports. Really hope it was a false alarm.

Tory Norfolk County Council "summit" opens with Labour Department of Transport, to decide "what to do" about the Norwich Western Link money-sinkhole.
The only stakeholder excluded is the citizens of Norfolk , because it is "behind closed doors".

Those 5000 submissions to the planning authority? Why, they've been "paused" of course, because soliciting them was only ever window dressing for the Tory Roadies.

Summits behind closed doors excluding the key stakeholder seem to be "in vogue" at the moment.

‘The paradigm has shifted. It will not return to “normal”. Most significantly, the shibboleth of atlanticism – that unshakeable belief that the US-UK relationship is always right and always in our interest – has released its grip on our political imagination. We are free to define defence and security on our terms.’

Latest job advert for crossing patrol staff across the county by #Norfolk County Council.

Currently 13 vacancies, at least four are schools in #Norwich.

These vacancies haven’t be filled for months, in some cases years.

If the jobs cannot be filled due to low wages and limited working hours, do we just let the dangerous road situation continue for kids? Wait until there are tragic accidents?

‘The most left-wing MP in the region [East Anglia] is the #Green party’s co-leader, Adrian Ramsay (Waveney Valley). He is the party’s sole MP in the region and takes that lead narrowly from Clive Lewis.’

Not at all suprised that Adrian Ramsey and Clive Lewis are the most leftwing politicians in our region. Alice MacDonald for #Norwich North comes in at number 5.

But can they inspire the kind of change in their constituencies that make their neighbours say ‘we want some of that’? I hope so.

I was persuaded by a local activist to watch this Channel 5 documentary with Alexis Conran…Heat Pumps: Are they worth it? It was partly filmed in #Norwich!

I thought it was fairly informative. Yes, they are more expensive, but there are grants. Yes, they would be cheaper to run if #Labour taxed electricity less than gas. Yes, sometimes you do need planning permission.

But do you consider the payback time of a gas boiler? No

Citing Reeves’s comments on growth, Clive Lewis, the Labour MP for #Norwich South and co-sponsor of the bill, said: “What kind of growth do we want? What are we growing? Are we growing pollution in our rivers? Are we growing roads that go through ancient woodlands? Yes, that is growth but not the kind of growth we want”

Why is my MP Clive Lewis still in the #Labour party?

Dr Andrew Boswell is a hero in #Norwich. He’s a man of science and principle with a willingness to engage constructively in local politics.

He took the government to the High Court because impact assessments arranged for road widening in #Norfolk were crap. #Starmer labelled him an ‘environmental zealot’ just to put others off speaking truth to power.

#Norwich City Council said the site contained #asbestos and that it was arranging tests to be carried out as a result.

While it says the risk to health remains low, it will be able to provide more guidance once the tests have been carried out.
