Question for my #osm #openstreetmap fellow nerds: Is the surface of this pavement sett or rock? This is a residential area so the path is man-made, not natural.

Étapes :
1. consolider les données #OSM par les données du service public (pas compris comment récupérer les données facilement dans un fichier et pas par une api, donc copie-collage a mano dans OSM depuis l'annuaire)
2. faire une requête sur mon département et via umap, exporter en csv
3. copier coller les adresses par paquets de ~10
4. améliorer OSM avec les retours des mails foireux
Today, I finalised an #osm mapping project.
I never thought that I would be able to contribute anything besides minor updates here and there to #openstreetmap. But then there was this park area which was reconstructed close to my home. And and nobody had picked this up yet, I added this park to my morning run and was able to update the map bit by bit:
Paths, benches, waste bins, fitness stations, courts, individual objects on the playground, … we should have a good basis now.
Interesting discussions go along with such an exercise. I learned a lot.
Worked on adding some details to the Mt Ksico NY town central. Added missing sidewalks, parking lots, and building details. Unfortunately I forgot to get a before photo.

@smsm1 sorry wrong 'F'. New mining villages were common in the Notts & Yorkshire coalfields as pits were opened to exploit the 'hidden' Coal Measures. Not sure if same was true for, say, Fife or West Lothian. Some Forestry Commission housing in the Highlands may be non-standard too.
It's not just non-standard houses : individual councils had distinctive styles. There's a couple of incongrous standard Argyll council houses on Gigha, for instance. Noted, incidentally, long before my #OSM days.

Gibts bei #OSM eigentlich die Möglichkeit, Örtlichkeiten als Nazi-Treff zu markieren? Denke da z.B. ans Sturgis in Berlin-Lichtenberg, ein Nazi-Treff, der auf der Karte als ganz normale Bar angezeigt wird.

- In #OSM admin_level is not hierarchical (usually)
- Ofc all the countries have different levels (somewhat expected)
- Stupid me thinking at least per country it would be uniform (hahaha, certainly not in Germany)
- There would be a "sane" mapping per country to unify the levels, if their name are different per state

@karussell They don't explicitly say that they're incorporating Open Street Map data---instead saying that you can bring "your" data alongside Google's---but, as evidenced by your screenshot, and by Google's intro video here at the 41 second mark:

It certainly seems like Google views Open Street Map data as fair game for inclusion within their "Geospatial Reasoning" product. Their promotional material shows a map rendering that bears a very strong resemblance to Open Street Map's default "Carto" raster tile rendering style, encouraging their potential customers to believe the same.
That is as clear a violation of the ODbL as can be, which was written in large part specifically to exclude Google from using OSM data in its own customer-facing products. Laundering license violations through AI doesn't make them not violations.
