@liverpoolrichard Hi Richard, thanks for the insights. Just after Easter I'm visiting the Isle of Man for a few days, staying in Laxey!

I'm currently writing a novel which features the Isle of Man, and have already made inroads with getting some authentic Manx language into it.

"You can also get port and sherry from Mannan"

Who can I contact at their Tourist Board to see how many of their boxes I can help them tick?

I am cooking an Indian rice tonight - Karuppu Kavuni rice. Online it is mostly equated to "black rice" and "forbidden rice". I am not sure this is correct (as incorrect info can propagate around the internet with lightning speed, so even seemingly reputable sources can have incorrect info)*.

In any case, and despite what the internet says, it's cooking requirements *seem* (on the label) much different to the usual "black rice" and "forbidden rice" - a long soaking plus a long cooking with a high water ratio.

I am going to try it in the instant pot so wish me luck! It'll be pretty much guess work.

* I wouldn't be surprised if sometimes forbidden/black rice is being sold as Karuppu Kavuni rice 🤷‍♀️ Worse things have happened.
