@cwebber beyond me why people are still at #bluesky. It's the trap of tHIs tiME WilL be dIFFerEnT, I guess.

#ATProto is NOT an open API. Any parallel implementation still has to go through bluesky's servers.

They are still owned by #DTBO vulture capitalist cryptobro techbro billionaires, who have stated they will sell your data and info to LLM predatory enterprises.

Baffling, really.

Meanwhile, #AcitivityPub remains simple, #FOSS, inexpensive, truly decentralized.

Go figure.

@kottke isn't he betting on a vulture capitalist crypto tech bro owned #DTBO , which corrals people in a proprietary, walled garden twitter-to-be? AND wanted to gove them $30M to add to that proprietary, walled off garden trap?

Consider people's decision making as the weight of their judgement.

Just saying.

Once again, for the people for whom immediate convenience trumps fixing a problem:

Posting an article with a critique and potential solutions for problems coming from plutocrat broligarch techbros running amok, destroying democracy, AND hosting it in #substack is too thick irony.

Stop sustaining those guys. Every time you click, open, or participate in #DTBO (douchebag techbro billionaire owned) socmedia, you give them money, and a platform.

There are several articles, by people who I know put forth good stuff, but unfortunately, they made a poor decision to publish them in #substack and I am not giving money, or clicks to #nazi #DTBO websites, owned by people who support and push for the demolition of democracy.

Not boosting anything from substack.

There are excellent and simpler, easier tools, some of them #FOSS, too. It's a CHOICE to remain in substack, or use #zoom, or others.

@leadore these are not the brightest people.

#Techbros think that, because they can sorta kinda code ( *poorly* ), they are geniuses and their inflated ego leads them to imagine there's no knowledge before or *above* theirs.

That is why every other week they magically rediscover taxes, busses, and other simple things they never given thought to, before.

They're deeply stupid, incurious beyond trendy tech buzzwords
