“Last night I dreamt I went to Manderley again.” The #HalfMoonBay Ritz Carlton always reminds me of Manderley as shown in the 1940 film version of the book Rebecca, written by Daphne du Maurier. My #bike, Sooty, agrees. I trust the Ritz has a much better sprinkler system than Manderley.

There was no scenery left unchewed by Laurence Olivier, a baby Joan Fontaine, and Dame Judith Anderson. And, just looking up the movie info, I did not remember it was directed by Alfred Hitchcock. Despite all that, I liked both the film and the book.
