#bikeshops : if you make disobliging remarks to your patrons when they bring a dirty bike, it means that you operate a shop for hobbyists only, and you should advertise it as such.
I drive my lovely bike more than 2 hours a day to commute to work through a dirty city. I'm not cleaning it from top to bottom for you every time I need to get a squeak fixed.
It seems that the density of yellow #ortlieb panniers for #bicycle and #fahrrad is very high around the #BikesOfMastodon and within the #fahrradbubble and the #FrostPendeln Community. To be honest there are only two bikes I remember not having some within the last weeks
Gute Neues euch allen!

@ja_herre A Schwinn Superior that I recently built from frame and fork. This set was hand made in Chicago during the late 70s of fillet brazed straight gauge cromoly tubing. Components are mostly SRAM. Years ago I was told SRAM was a Chicago based company. That passing comment stuck with me.
So I thought it would be nice if we shared pictures of the bicycles in our lives, and I wanted to propose we use the hashtag #bikesofmastodon to do it.
I don't have a name for her (it's definitely a she in my mind) but you are welcome to suggest one, preferably in Spanish or French as those are my primary languages.
I've had her for a year, she was designed to be a daily commuter but she has become much more than that, we have shared many adventures through the mean streets of Buenos Aires and I now regularly do 80 to 100 km with her on my weekends just for fun.
More pictures and details in comments.
Taking a bike ride in the rain to clear my head from work, and clean my bike from dirt. And to satisfy my autumn vibes :)
Summer, mountains, bikes!
High up on the list of silly things you can do, but I went #cargopacking on my singlespeed Omnium Mini with a friend. Still cannot wipe the grin off my face - and my legs are still hurting.
Quick Zernez - Ofenpass - Reschenpass - Scuol sub-24h loop including a magical forest bivy.
I finally received the last parts for prepping this bike for a bike vacation! I'm amazed that after bolting on both fenders and racks, the bike is barely noticeably heavier, and still doesn't rattle at all. I really don't like it when my bikes rattle when going down the road.
I bought a pair of red panniers to go on the rear rack too, and they are *almost* the same shade of red as the bike frame itself.
I'm also amazed that I still end up finding news roads I've never rode before around here. I thought I had discovered everything already.
I finally got the fenders installed! It wasn't easy, and I modified the mounting points a lot to make them sit the way I want. The finishing detail was stuffing in a cut off piece of an old bike tube between the arch of the fork and the top of the front fender, to reduce noise and vibrations. Cut up tubes are useful for a lot of things!

Ok #bikesofmastodon you great #cycling hive mind. I have a question, has anyone ever had a bee fly into your helmet vents and sting you on the head while you were riding? Well it happened to me today! #mastobikes #beeinmybonnet
This weekend I rode from Canberra to the coast - 182km with 2472m of climbing. I've done it in one go only once before but I am stronger and fitter than I was in 2022 and I found that I enjoyed the ride more this time.
We took a slightly different route, though it had a similar ratio of dirt and tarmac (50/50). Coffee and pastries in Braidwood and a pub lunch in Araluen was very pleasant but I missed the feeling of being far from civilisation of the first trip.
Although it is coming into winter, it was unseasonably cold and, at one point in the trip, at Hoskinstown, it was -7 degrees with a thick fog.
Loads of wildlife on this trip - kangaroos and wallabies, crimson rosellas and whip birds to name a few.
A great ride with some lovely people that was largely without incident and traversed some lovely backroads and changing bushland as we approached the coast.
I'm very surprised Garmin Incident Detection didn't go off; a kid walked out in front of me, so slammed on the only brake I had access to (the front brake), and went over the bars.
I'm fine, we landed on soft grass/dirt. Though we need new hoods #BikeTooter #cycling #BikesOfMastodon #fedibikes
