Dear #websites that produce #statements (#banks, #insurance, #investment companies, looking at you):

When people need to download statements, usually they need to download more than one. The following are #bullshit:

1. each statement opens in a new window/tab (let me decide that pls)
2. each statement _re-uses_ the SAME window/tab (you suck x10)
3. each statement (in its own window) is called `statement.pdf` y no 6801?
4. no "Download all" or "all on this page" option.
5. PDF only :(

Silly question

the TLD .games - is that "all about games" or primarily game devs/projects.

I am a gamer/twitch streamer/game reviewer/steam curator (I love games) and looking to create my own pocket of the universe (web domain).

the 2 TLD domains for gaming are .game and .games so thinking (name).games since I am not surrounding a single game like a dev or studio might

if not I will go .ca or something :)

Received an email by the #NANOG mailing list in which they raise a pretty concerning thing: Apparently, #Spain started to intercept or nullroute certain IP addresses of #CDN providers. The intent is to fight #piracy during #football matches.

Do the people who pass the list of IP addresses even understand the significance of blocking a bunch of #CDN networks of various providers? Seriously?! It #censors access to tens of thousands of legitimate #websites which is blatantly accepted as a #collateral to help out some shady sports association in their #copyright?

How much shadier can a decision be? Since this is a thing, maybe they can think about taking down entire regions in Spain the next football match?

The amount of collateral damage in the name of copyright is ridiculous. The #EuropeanUnion really has to step-up their game in addressing those concerning developments. I read about multiple such blatant decisions so far. Eyeing at you, #Quad9 and #Sony...

Danke!

One of the reason I like static websites is because of the low overhead on the server.

Also you don't have to back up the website because it's already on your computer. Just backup your computer.

And because of this static websites are very portable and can even be run on free hosts. Just be sure to use your own domain so when the free host goes squirelly you can move.

Blogs, audio, video, full websites all have static host solutions.

It feels good in the curent situation to be fully free of any proprietary solution.

#Linux #Debian #FreeBSD on all systems only, own #public #DNS servers on own systems including management.

#Mastodon, #Matrix , #Bridges , #Email , #SOGo #Nextcloud #Owncloud #UnifiedPush #ntfy #HomeAssistant #WebSites mostly done with #Hugo, and far more all self hosted on own systems in the basement or in our housing rack.
